As a nurse with more than 30 years of experience in the medical field, I have supported many patients and families through the difficult realities of death, dying, and loss. Despite my professional experience, nothing could have fully prepared me for the profound grief I experienced following the loss of my mother.
With both of my parents gone, I found myself struggling with an unexpected loss of identity and with a new reality I was not prepared to embrace—the feeling of being an orphan. I began this journey feeling confused, deeply alone, and uncertain about how to move forward.
Through a close friend, I was introduced to Dr. Stephens, whose counseling and compassionate guidance helped me navigate the grief, confusion, and loneliness I was experiencing. She reminded me of my rightful place in the family of God and reassured me that His plans for my life remained good. She also helped me recognize that God’s goodness and love would continue to surround me, even during one of the most difficult seasons of my life.
Through my counseling sessions with Dr. Stephens, my faith in God has grown stronger. Although healing is a journey, I am moving forward with renewed hope, greater peace, and a deeper trust in God’s plan for my life and future.
